Our Story: A Journey Back to the Roots

Swapping the wetlands of Somerset for the sun-drenched peaks of Polopos.

We are Nigel and Fede, and for the past 12 months, we have been on the adventure of a lifetime. What began as a trip to Spain to spend time with Fede’s family became the start of a new chapter: restoring a piece of history in la Alpujarra baja of Granada, Polopos.

A Legacy Reborn

Our story in Polopos runs deep. The family’s connection to the village goes back generations—Fede’s grandfather once served as the local town doctor. We received the keys in January 2025 and have spent every moment since then renovating and breathing new life into this former B&B. Our goal is to open our doors in the Spring of 2026, offering a sanctuary in the breathtaking Sierra de la Contraviesa.
